Replay Vision

Set up AI scanners that watch your clients' session recordings and answer a question about each visit, then review the answers in the agency app.

Overview

A scanner is a question an AI model answers by watching a session recording: did the visitor hit an error, what did they come to do, how engaged were they. Each answer is a result. Results are also sent into the client's data as a $recording_observed event, so you can count and chart them like any other event.

Scans run on your own OpenRouter or Gemini key, and the provider bills you directly.

Open Replay Vision from the agency menu to see every client's scanners, or from a client's menu to see only that client's.

Set it up

Add a model key

Open the Model keys tab and add an OpenRouter or Gemini API key. A key added at the agency level is used by every client. A key added on a client is used for that client instead. Mythic checks the key with the provider, encrypts it, and never shows it again.

A Gemini key must be on a paid plan. Google may use free-tier content to improve its products, and recordings show your clients' visitors.

Create a scanner

Click New scanner, choose the client and the type, and write the question. Describe what can be seen, not feelings. "Answer yes if the visitor clicked Submit and an error appeared" works. "Answer yes if the visitor was confused" does not. Say what to answer when the recording doesn't show enough.

Test it on a few recordings

Click Scan recordings and pick recordings you have already watched. Results appear within a few minutes. Read the reasoning, and edit the question until the answers match what you saw.

Turn on automatic scanning

Switch on Scan new recordings automatically and set the sample, the share of new recordings to scan. Every 5 minutes the scanner picks from the recordings that just ended.

Scanner types

TypeAnswers withExample question
MonitorYes or no, or "inconclusive" if you allow itDid the visitor hit an error?
ClassifierOne or more of your tagsWhy did they come: browsing, buying, account, unclear
ScorerA number on your scaleHow engaged were they, 0 to 10
SummarizerA title, summary, intent, outcome, friction points and keywordsWhat happened in this visit?

Every answer includes the model's confidence, its reasoning, and the key moment in the recording, with a link to the session.

Review results

Each scanner lists its results under its settings. On a client's Replay Vision screen, the Results tab lists every scanner's results for that client. A client's Sessions screen shows the results for each recording, and can scan a single session.

Filter results by status (answered, failed, not eligible, queued, scanning) and by the second check.

Second check

After your model answers, a second model reads the answer's reasoning and the visit's timeline and checks whether they support the answer. Results where the two disagree are marked Check disagrees. Watch those recordings first. A scanner with many disagreements usually has a vague question.

Agreement does not prove the answer is right. The second check does not see the video. It catches an answer that its own reasoning doesn't support, or reasoning the timeline contradicts.

Limits and costs

  • Each scanner scans up to its monthly limit (500 by default), automatic and picked scans together. The scanner shows this month's scans, answers, failures and model spend.
  • Scan recordings takes up to 50 recordings at a time. It ignores the sample and counts against the monthly limit.
  • A scanner scans each recording once.
  • Recordings shorter than 15 seconds, with less than 10 seconds of activity, or with more than an hour of activity are not eligible. They are not sent to your model and don't count against the limit.
  • Recordings are kept 30 days. HIPAA clients have no recordings.
  • A client can have up to 25 scanners.
  • Editing a scanner's question, settings or model starts a new version. Earlier results keep the version they were scanned with.
  • Deleting a scanner deletes its results. Events already sent stay in the client's data.

For developers

The same scanners, keys and results are available on the Replay Vision API and as MCP tools.
