Link uptime
See whether your clients' short link destinations are up, how fast they respond, and how alerts reach you when one goes down.
Overview
Mythic checks the destination of every short link every 5 minutes. The Link uptime screen shows the result. There is nothing to turn on: a link is monitored as soon as it is created, as long as it is enabled and not expired.
Open Link uptime from the agency menu to see every client's links, or from a client's menu to see only that client's.
Read the screen
The tiles at the top show:
- Monitored links: links checked in the last 24 hours.
- Down now: links whose latest check failed.
- Uptime: the share of checks that succeeded, over the last 30 days or since the link was created, whichever is shorter.
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Link | The link's title or short path, and the destination URL it points to |
| Status | Up, or Down with the HTTP status code or the error |
| Uptime 24h | The share of checks that succeeded in the last 24 hours |
| Response | How long the destination took to answer the latest check |
| Checked | When the latest check ran |
A client's screen also charts the daily average response time for the last 14 days.
When a link goes down
A link counts as down after 2 failed checks in a row, so one slow answer doesn't raise an alert. Mythic then opens a critical alert, such as "Short link /spring-sale is down", and sends it to your alert channels. When the destination answers again, the alert resolves. A rule can also send that recovery.
Choose where alerts go, a Slack channel or a webhook, on the Alerts screen.
Common causes
- 404: the page the link points to was moved or deleted. Update the link's destination, or restore the page.
- 5xx or no response: the client's site is down or blocking the check. Some firewalls block automated requests. Ask the client's host to allow them.
For developers
Uptime is available on the Client Links API,
with link_down and link_up webhooks. Alert routing is on the
Alerts API.
