Short links
Create tracked short links, see who clicks them, and get a webhook when a link's destination goes down.
Overview
The Short links screen creates tracked short links for a client. Each click is recorded and joined to the visitor's profile, so a person who clicks a link in an email or text and later converts is the same person in Mythic. Open a client and choose Short links.
Whether each link's destination is up is on the Link uptime screen under Monitor.
Create a link
- Click New link.
- Enter where the link Goes to, for example
https://example.com/offer. - Optionally enter a Slug, the end of the short link, such as
spring-offer. Use letters, numbers, hyphens and underscores. Mythic picks one if you leave it empty. - Optionally add a Title to name the link in the list.
- Click Create link. The short link has the form
/r/<slug>.
The Links tab
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Short link | The title, or the short link if there is no title. |
| Goes to | The destination. |
| Clicks (7d) | Clicks in the last 7 days. |
Use the copy button to copy a short link. Deleting a link stops the short URL from redirecting. Past clicks stay in analytics.
Recent clicks lists each click in the last 7 days with the link, the visitor's location, the referrer and the time. Clicks show up a few seconds after they happen.
The Webhooks tab
A webhook gets a POST when a short link's destination goes down
(link_down) or recovers (link_up). Click Add webhook and enter the
URL. Deleting a webhook stops these events from posting to it.
